FedEx Expands Asia–Europe Air Network with Five New Weekly Flights Ahead of Festive Season

SINGAPORE, 18 October, 2025 – Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has strengthened its Asia–Europe network with the addition of five new weekly flights connecting Asia Pacific (APAC) to its European hub at Paris Charles de Gaulle.

The expansion aims to enhance service reliability and provide faster, more flexible access to European markets ahead of the year-end festive season.

The new flights operate from two of FedEx’s key APAC hubs, three from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and two from the Shanghai International Express and Cargo Hub, all using Boeing 777 freighters.

These direct connections to Paris significantly boost FedEx’s average daily capacity between APAC and Europe, empowering regional businesses to seize opportunities in high-demand sectors such as e-commerce, manufacturing, hi-tech, and retail.

According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the Europe–Asia trade lane has now recorded 30 consecutive months of air freight volume growth, with a 13% year-on-year increase as of August 2025.

The European Union remains the largest import market for more than 100 countries, while APAC economies continue to rank among its most dynamic suppliers. This momentum reflects businesses’ increasing shift toward Europe as a key market for diversification and growth.

“The Asia–Europe corridor is one of the fastest-growing trade lanes,” said Salil Chari, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Customer Experience, Asia Pacific, FedEx.

“In our survey of nearly 4,000 customers in Asia this year, over 20% said they plan to shift their trading focus to Europe over the next 12 months. We are adapting quickly and flexing our network to create a blueprint for the next wave of opportunity in Asia’s expanding trade ecosystem.

“Through enhanced connectivity between APAC and Europe, we are helping businesses respond to market changes, reach new customers, and strengthen their position in global trade.”

With the expanded flight schedule, FedEx now operates 26 weekly flights connecting APAC shipments to Europe, delivering express shipments to major destinations in as little as 48 hours.

The company recently enhanced connectivity from Northern Vietnam to Europe, reinforcing its commitment to serving Asia’s importers and exporters. Leveraging a robust European network that includes hubs in Paris, Cologne, and Liège, along with its new global air transit facility in Istanbul, FedEx continues to offer businesses greater speed, flexibility, and resilience to meet shifting supply chain needs.

The additional flight capacity will help APAC businesses navigate heightened demand during the year-end period, ensuring improved delivery reliability and reduced transit times for cross-border trade.

“This expansion underscores our long-term commitment to enabling global commerce and supporting business success across Asia Pacific and beyond,” said Chari. “As the region continues to lead in trade growth and innovation, FedEx remains focused on helping customers capture emerging opportunities in Europe’s evolving economic landscape.”

With the five new weekly flights, FedEx further solidifies its role as a critical enabler of Asia’s international trade, driving connectivity and resilience in the global supply chain.
