Singapore, 22 September 2026 – Bitcoin retreated from an eight-month high in early Asian trading after a four-day advance of more than 13%, a move that has revived the question of whether the market is seeing durable demand or a rapid positioning reset. The token traded around US$85,500 in Singapore after reaching US$87,381 in the preceding United States session. Those are point-in-time prices rather than a guarantee of where it will trade later in the day.
The reversal was modest relative to the preceding surge. Bitcoin remained roughly US$10,000 above last week’s lows and had returned to levels last seen in late January, according to the reported market snapshot. Yet it still sat well below its record around US$126,000 reached last October. Investors looking at percentage gains over a few sessions therefore need to place them against the larger drawdown and a market that remains sensitive to liquidity conditions.
