Kuala Lumpur, 12 August 2026 – Malaysia lowered its crude palm oil reference price for September to RM4,392.32 per metric tonne, but the export duty will remain at the maximum 10% rate because the benchmark continues to exceed the highest tax threshold.
The September reference price is below August’s RM4,412.19 per tonne, a decline of RM19.87 or about 0.5%. The reduction is modest and leaves the benchmark well above RM4,050 per tonne, the level at which Malaysia’s crude palm oil export duty reaches 10%.
