Ringgit Opens Higher Ahead of Negeri Sembilan State Election

Kuala Lumpur, 27 July 2026 – The ringgit opened firmer against the US dollar as improving domestic sentiment ahead of the Negeri Sembilan state election provided support, although investors remained cautious before a closely watched United States monetary-policy meeting.

At 8am, the local currency strengthened to 4.0830/4.0930 against the greenback from Friday’s close of 4.0885/4.0935.
