Kuala Lumpur, 22 July 2026 – The ringgit opened broadly stronger against major currencies while remaining little changed against the US dollar, supported by Malaysia’s robust trade performance despite heightened geopolitical uncertainty and renewed strength in the greenback.
At the opening of trading, the local currency stood at 4.0895/4.0950 against the US dollar, unchanged from the previous session’s close. The ringgit nevertheless appreciated against most other major currencies as investors responded positively to Malaysia’s latest economic indicators.
