KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 – The China Jiangsu Service Trade Expo 2025 opened in Kuala Lumpur on Friday, bringing together 70 exhibitors from Jiangsu province to showcase their latest innovations and service sector strengths to Malaysian partners.
Sun Shuqiang, Minister Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy’s Economic and Commercial Office, hailed the event as a reflection of the deepening economic ties between Beijing and Kuala Lumpur. “China-Malaysia relations are entering a golden era,” he said, noting that service trade is fast becoming a new growth driver in bilateral cooperation.
He highlighted Malaysia’s established capabilities in finance, education, tourism, and information technology, which he said complement Jiangsu’s expertise in service trade innovation. “This offers broad prospects for collaboration,” Sun added.
Echoing this view, See Chee Kong, Senior Director of Services Sector Development at Malaysia’s Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, stressed the growing importance of the services industry in driving economic expansion. “The sector is a critical engine of growth, creating high-value jobs and fueling innovation,” he said.
The expo, which runs alongside several promotional activities, will feature a digital trade matchmaking session, a tourism promotion conference, as well as an exhibition and performance showcasing China’s intangible cultural heritage.
