Kuala Lumpur, 27 October 2026 – Malaysia’s technology shares outperformed on Tuesday after artificial-intelligence company Anthropic filed for a stock-market listing. The Bursa Malaysia Technology Index, which tracks more than 50 sector counters, rose by over 2%, while ViTrox Corp Bhd gained 0.9% to RM10.82. ViTrox shares have climbed nearly 180% this year, giving the Penang-based semiconductor inspection equipment maker a market value of about RM21 billion, according to the report’s figures.
The move matters to Malaysian investors because it combines a broad AI-related market theme with a company whose prospects also depend on orders, capacity and execution. The filing is confirmed; the view that it may revive confidence in AI infrastructure spending is an analyst interpretation, not a guaranteed outcome. ViTrox’s sharp year-to-date rise also means that good operating prospects and valuation risk now sit side by side.
