Petaling Jaya, 30 September 2026 – U Mobile’s improving mobile-network speeds have strengthened the case for further revenue-share gains in Malaysia’s telecommunications market, according to an analyst assessment. The company is reported to lead on 5G and overall download-speed measures, while performance on coverage and application experience remains less conclusive. For investors, faster tests are a commercial opportunity, not proof that subscribers or margins have already shifted.

The research cited a 5G download-speed result of about 280 megabits per second for an April-to-June measurement period, up from 227 megabits per second in an earlier August-to-October period. These readings depend on the testing method, geography and devices used. They are not promises of the speed every customer will receive at home, at work or while travelling.
