KUALA LUMPUR, 02 December 2025 – Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet) has unveiled a refreshed design for the DuitNow QR standee, rolling it out nationwide to enhance visibility and consistency of Malaysia’s national QR standard. The new look makes DuitNow QR easier to identify at merchant locations, creating a more seamless and intuitive payment experience for both consumers and businesses.
The update is purely visual, with no changes to DuitNow QR’s functionality, security, or interoperability. As Malaysia’s national QR standard, DuitNow QR continues to support participating banks and e-wallets through a single QR code, ensuring consumers can pay as usual, and merchants can accept payments without disruption.
Previously, multiple standee designs circulated from different banks and e-wallets, leading to inconsistencies and confusion at the point of sale. The refreshed design addresses this by standardising how DuitNow QR is displayed, positioning it clearly as Malaysia’s official QR payment method. The new standee offers a cleaner, more uniform way for businesses to show they accept DuitNow QR.
“As digital payments become second nature for Malaysians, the trust and clarity of what people are scanning matters more than ever,” said Gary Yeoh, Chief Marketing Officer of PayNet. “The refreshed DuitNow QR standee brings greater consistency and visibility across the country, ensuring consumers always know they are paying through Malaysia’s official and secure QR standard, while making it simpler for merchants to display and accept payments through just one QR code.”
Deployment of the new standee began in October 2025, with RHB Bank Berhad, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad, MBSB Bank and Agrobank among the first to introduce it to their merchants. The rollout is being carried out gradually to allow a smooth transition across the ecosystem, with CIMB Bank Berhad, Public Bank Berhad, Hong Leong Bank Berhad, AmBank (M) Berhad, Bank Simpanan Nasional and Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad set to follow, alongside other banks in due course. Businesses are encouraged to adopt the revamped standee once made available by their respective acquirers.
This redesign reinforces PayNet’s commitment to strengthening Malaysia’s cashless ecosystem. By making DuitNow QR more recognisable and standardised, the initiative cements its role as Malaysia’s single national QR standard and supports the country’s agenda of building an inclusive digital economy for all.
