New York, 6 May 2026 – Nvidia has acquired US$500 million of rights to purchase Corning shares as part of a strategic partnership aimed at expanding optical connectivity manufacturing for artificial intelligence infrastructure, reinforcing how the AI boom is moving deeper into materials, networking and supply-chain capacity.
Under the agreement, Nvidia received rights to acquire up to 15 million Corning common shares at US$180 per share, as well as pre-funded rights to purchase up to 3 million additional shares at a nominal price. The structure gives Nvidia financial exposure to Corning while supporting a major expansion in optical fibre and connectivity production.
