Kuala Lumpur, 8 May 2026 – Malaysia’s plan to begin producing B15 biodiesel from 1 June 2026 marks an important policy moment for the country’s palm oil, transport fuel and energy-transition agenda, as 19 licensed plants prepare to support the rollout of a diesel blend containing 15% palm-based biodiesel.
The move gives Malaysia an opportunity to connect three national priorities: strengthening domestic fuel resilience, supporting the palm oil value chain and advancing lower-carbon transport solutions. It also comes at a time when global energy markets remain exposed to geopolitical volatility, making fuel diversification more strategically important.
