Kuala Lumpur, 6 November 2026 – Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport said Nile Tech Sdn Bhd has not been given access to the MyJPJ database and does not automatically receive user profile information when motorists tap the app’s insurance renewal link. In a written parliamentary response reported on 6 November, the ministry said the link takes users to Nile Tech’s own portal, where any renewal transaction takes place.
For insurers, technology providers and businesses building services around public-sector apps, the explanation distinguishes a link that sends customers to a separate website from an integration that transfers government-held data. The ministry also said the appointment was non-exclusive and incurred no cost to the government. Those statements describe the arrangement as the ministry has presented it; they do not establish the commercial terms of a customer’s individual policy or a third party’s privacy practices.
