Kuala Lumpur, 28 October 2026 – Malaysian police have frozen and seized assets valued at about RM409.21 million in Op Viking, an ongoing investigation into alleged “corporate mafia” activity, Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail told Parliament. The reported measures include 417 Central Depository System accounts, 70 share-trading accounts linked to RM323.59 million, and 404 bank accounts holding about RM85.62 million. As of 25 September, 70 people had been called to give statements; police are still preparing investigation papers.
The case matters to businesses and investors because it involves trading and bank accounts as well as other property, bringing enforcement action into focus across financial and corporate channels. The minister’s statement describes assets believed to be connected to suspected activity, not convictions or proof that every account holder participated in an offence. Freezing or seizure preserves assets during an investigation; it does not establish guilt, ownership or the final amount that may be forfeited.
