New Delhi, 4 November 2026 – India’s renewable energy expansion faces a financial challenge that cannot be solved simply by building more solar panels and wind turbines.

The initiative comes as Indian renewable energy developers face borrowing costs of approximately 11% to 12%, compared with reported rates of 2% to 3% in developed markets.

The figures demonstrate that financing conditions are becoming a critical factor in the energy transition.
