Batu Pahat, Johor, 27 August 2025 – Enproserve Group Berhad, a leading provider of mechanical and civil engineering services to Malaysia’s oil & gas (O&G) and petrochemical industries, has entered into a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to developing future-ready engineering talent and advancing industry-focused research as the nation’s energy sector undergoes rapid transformation.
The partnership aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering a sustainable pipeline of highly skilled engineers capable of meeting the evolving demands of Malaysia’s O&G and petrochemical landscape. The collaboration will also strengthen research, technology transfer, and innovation to support operational excellence.
Key Areas of Collaboration
Under the MoU, Enproserve will work closely with UTHM on multiple fronts:
- Talent Development & Training – Students in UTHM’s Bachelor of Technology in O&G Plant Operation with Honours programme will receive structured industry exposure through apprenticeships, internships, and work-based learning opportunities at Enproserve. This includes a one-year industrial attachment to provide hands-on experience with real-world engineering challenges.
- Research & Technology Advancement – The collaboration will explore joint research initiatives, particularly in plant maintenance, turnaround management, and engineering solutions aligned with Industry 4.0 and sustainable practices.
- Industry-Academia Knowledge Sharing – By combining academic expertise with industry know-how, the partnership seeks to produce graduates who are not only technically competent but also adaptable to emerging technologies, safety standards, and digital transformation in O&G operations.
Building Malaysia’s Energy Workforce of the Future
Enproserve’s clientele includes PETRONAS Group and other prominent O&G and petrochemical players. Its service portfolio spans plant maintenance and turnaround (PMT), Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) works, and heavy-lifting vehicle rentals—all vital for operational efficiency, safety, and project execution.
By aligning with UTHM, Enproserve aims to ensure that Malaysia’s future workforce is equipped with specialised skills for high-demand roles, while also embedding innovation and sustainability into industry practices.
The Group believes this MoU will not only support Enproserve’s long-term growth but also contribute to Malaysia’s broader ambition of becoming a regional hub for advanced O&G and petrochemical expertise.
