Kuala Lumpur, 6 November 2026 – Bursa Malaysia’s benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI fell 19.28 points, or about 1.18%, to close at 1,616.58 on Friday. The index ended below Thursday’s 1,635.86 after a technology-led sell-off on Wall Street spread to Asian markets. Across the Malaysian exchange, 964 counters fell and 273 rose, while turnover declined to RM3.49 billion from RM3.61 billion the previous day.

For investors assessing Malaysia after a volatile week, the closing figures show that the morning decline extended beyond an opening reaction to US markets. It is not evidence that those companies’ earnings prospects all deteriorated by the same amount.
