Trading volume reached two billion shares valued at RM1.5 billion. The financial-services index gained 0.93%, while healthcare rose 0.79%; they were the only two sector indices in positive territory. Maybank climbed nine sen to RM10.04, CIMB gained 14 sen to RM7.44 and Public Bank added three sen to RM4.69.
