KUALA LUMPUR, 03 December 2025 – Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, has announced two landmark collaborations to advance Malaysia’s national digital transformation agenda. At Alibaba Cloud AI Day, the company unveiled its role as the cloud infrastructure provider for Ryt Bank, the world’s first AI-powered bank for payment transfers. It formalised a new partnership with Proton New Energy Technology (PRO-NET), the energy subsidiary of national carmaker PROTON.

The event, officiated by YB Datuk Wilson Ugak Anak Kumbong, Deputy Minister of Digital for Malaysia, underscored Alibaba Cloud’s position as a strategic technology partner and highlighted the critical role of cloud and AI technologies in driving Malaysia’s digital economy. In his address, the Deputy Minister commended the collaborations, noting that Malaysia’s digital future relies on strong partnerships between industry and technology providers, and that initiatives such as Ryt Bank and PRO-NET showcase how cloud and AI can accelerate national progress.

Dr. Feifei Li, SVP of Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group and President of International Business, emphasised that supporting Malaysia’s goal to become an AI Nation by 2030 requires strong partnerships and solid infrastructure. Through collaborations with Ryt Bank and PRO-NET, Alibaba Cloud is empowering AI capabilities across key industries, helping Malaysia innovate at both national and international levels.

Ryt Bank, powered by Alibaba Cloud’s infrastructure, has built an AI-enabled digital banking platform designed to deliver secure, seamless, and innovative financial experiences. Within six months, the bank launched its core environment aligned with Bank Negara Malaysia’s regulatory requirements, offering customers a fully digital onboarding journey completed in just two minutes. As a digital bank built with AI at its core, Ryt Bank leverages intelligent capabilities to deliver personalised, intuitive services.

Meanwhile, PRO-NET has adopted a cloud-first, data-driven approach enabled by Alibaba Cloud’s end-to-end pipeline, supporting Malaysia’s new energy ecosystem and accelerating the nation’s transition towards intelligent, sustainable mobility.

Building on this foundation, PRO-NET is advancing its AI capabilities using Alibaba Cloud’s Model Studio to develop internal and customer-facing applications, including vehicle infotainment systems. The collaboration also explores broader AI opportunities through Qwen and Platform for AI (PAI), positioning PRO-NET to harness cutting-edge tools for operational efficiency, customer engagement, and innovation in electric mobility.

From enabling AI-powered digital banking with Ryt Bank to advancing intelligent mobility through PRO-NET, Alibaba Cloud remains committed to equipping Malaysia’s businesses, innovators, and technology partners with the cloud and AI capabilities needed to accelerate transformation. These collaborations reflect Alibaba Cloud’s dedication to driving meaningful innovation and building a digitally resilient Malaysia.
