Kuala Lumpur, 6 November 2026 – About 6,000 taxpayers have come forward to correct transaction records under Malaysia’s E-Invoice Special Voluntary Disclosure Programme, according to Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia e-Invoice Division director Rasyidah Che Rosli. The programme opened on 7 July 2026 and is scheduled to run through 31 December 2027. Taxpayers who make qualifying corrections within that period and follow the prescribed guidelines can do so without penalties for those corrections.

For businesses operating in Malaysia, the update shows that the programme is being used to resolve problems from the early stages of electronic invoicing. It does not tell companies how many invoices contained errors or how much tax was involved. The count is of taxpayers who came forward, and Rasyidah said some may have needed to change only particular transactions.
