Singapore, 6 November 2026 – Singapore Airlines Limited unveiled new long-haul cabins across all four travel classes on 6 November, but the first seats are now due to enter service in the second half of 2027. The airline is spending more than S$2 billion on a programme covering 72 aircraft, including Airbus A350-900s to be refitted and Boeing 777-9s on order. Certification delays have pushed back when passengers can expect to use the new cabins.
For Asian investors and businesses that buy long-haul travel, the announcement separates the design of the product from its availability. The airline can show customers what it intends to offer before it can commit to a particular flight. For shareholders, the delay also puts the timing of the commercial benefits in focus: a cabin cannot help win bookings on a route until an approved aircraft with those seats is flying it.
