Tokyo, 6 November 2026 – Economists expect Japan’s real gross domestic product to have grown at an annualised rate of 0.3% in July to September, down from 1.4% in the previous quarter. The median of 16 forecasts published on 6 November points to a slowdown as weaker household spending and net external demand offset a recovery in capital expenditure. Japan’s Cabinet Office is scheduled to publish its first official estimate on 16 November.

The forecasts are not official figures and do not establish when the central bank will next move interest rates.
