Bengaluru, 1 November 2026 – Binance says it has replenished 90% of the assets affected by a security incident that it estimated at about US$6.3 billion. In its 31 October update, the exchange said the remaining 10% consists of less-liquid tokens that may take longer to acquire. The figure refers to replacement coverage, not proof that the stolen tokens themselves have been recovered.
For Asian businesses and investors, the update matters because it links customer protection to liquidity, reserve management and the ability to restore withdrawals after a major exchange incident. Binance says users will not bear the financial impact, but that is the company’s stated commitment; its full reserve proof and the resumption of withdrawals were still pending in the latest update.
