Kuala Lumpur, 9 October 2026 – Malaysia’s wholesale and retail trade sales reached RM173 billion in August, rising 10.5% from a year earlier and signalling continued strength across domestic distribution and consumption. Retail trade advanced RM4.4 billion, or 6.5%, to RM71.7 billion, while motor-vehicle sales grew RM0.5 billion, or 2.5%, to RM20.1 billion.
