Beijing, 9 October 2026 – Former ByteDance intern Tian Keyu has raised nearly US$30 million for an unnamed artificial-intelligence research lab developing world models, valuing the early-stage company at about US$200 million after the investment. Backers include 5Y Capital and IDG Capital, signalling continued venture appetite for technical teams pursuing alternatives to today’s language-model architectures.

World models aim to represent physical environments and predict how they evolve, supporting applications such as robotics, autonomous driving and interactive video. Tian’s approach seeks to create a language for AI before training on 100 million hours of video, an ambitious data and computing objective that remains far from a finished commercial product.
