Singapore, 28 September 2026 – Bitget has revised its estimate of assets affected by a September wallet-security incident to approximately US$387.5 million, up from an initial US$351.6 million. Its latest incident update says additional transaction classification identified assets on Zcash and TRON that were not included in the first assessment. The revision does not represent a newly discovered second attack, according to the exchange. That distinction matters because the selected research headline cited a smaller US$357 million figure that no longer reflects the company’s latest accounting.
Bitget says unauthorized transfers were detected at about 18:31 UTC on 24 September from part of its hot and warm wallet infrastructure. The company says cold wallets were not affected and that the identified vulnerability has been remediated. It continues to work with external forensic specialists on tracing and recovery. Those statements describe the exchange’s current investigation; they are not an independent final audit or proof that every affected asset will be recovered.
