US–China AI Incident Channel Creates a Narrow New Guardrail

The US and China agreed to open an AI incident communication channel, but investors still need details on scope, escalation and implementation.

Washington, 25 September 2026 – The United States and China have agreed to establish a bilateral channel for incidents involving advanced artificial intelligence, creating a limited but potentially important mechanism for managing risk between the technology’s two most influential powers.
