SK Hynix Wage Deal Reduces Labour Risk as AI Chip Demand Accelerates

SK Hynix workers approved a revised wage deal, reducing labour uncertainty as the company expands high-bandwidth memory production for AI systems.

Seoul, 16 September 2026 – SK Hynix workers have approved a revised wage agreement, reducing a material labour risk for one of the world’s most important suppliers of high-bandwidth memory used in artificial intelligence systems. The deal arrives as strong accelerator demand makes production continuity, retention and technical execution central to the company’s earnings outlook.

About 57.08% of participating union members supported the revised package, with 8,731 votes in favour and 6,566 against. The agreement provides a 6.3% wage increase. It also changes the performance-incentive mix to 50% cash and 50% shares from an earlier proposal of 40% cash and 60% shares.
