HKEX Profit Hits Record as IPO Pipeline and Turnover Surge

Hong Kong, 19 August 2026 – Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing has delivered a second consecutive quarterly profit record as stronger initial-public-offering activity and higher trading turnover lifted the performance of the city’s capital-market infrastructure. The result gives investors a fresh measure of how market activity is translating into earnings.

Second-quarter net profit rose 21 per cent year on year to HK$5.38 billion, equivalent to about US$686 million. Earnings per share reached HK$4.26, ahead of the HK$4.96 billion profit expectation reflected in market estimates. The result followed first-quarter profit of HK$5.19 billion, extending a run of stronger operating momentum.
