Beijing, China, 17 August 2026 – China has added eight commercial banks to the digital yuan network, increasing the number of e-CNY operators to 30 as authorities seek deeper integration with the country’s financial system.
The new participants include Ping An Bank, Bank of Shanghai and Bank of Hangzhou, along with regional lenders such as Huishang Bank, Bank of Changsha and Guangxi Beibu Gulf Bank.
