Putrajaya, 12 August 2026 – Malaysia’s services sector generated RM714.7 billion in revenue during the second quarter, an 11.2% increase from a year earlier that highlights the strength of the economy’s largest and most diverse segment.
Revenue rose 4.9% from the first quarter, reflecting activity across consumer-facing businesses, tourism, finance, telecommunications and data-centre-related services. The broad increase matters because services account for a large share of national output and provide an important counterweight to fluctuations in manufacturing and commodities.
