Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 12 August 2026 – Malaysia’s industrial production is expected to remain supported by domestic demand and firm external orders for electrical and electronics products, even after headline growth moderated in June.
The industrial production index increased 6.5% from a year earlier in June, below the median market forecast of 7.2%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, output slipped 0.5%, showing that the annual expansion did not translate into continued sequential growth.
