Kuala Lumpur, 29 July 2026 – PETRONAS is extending its long-term liquefied natural gas supply relationship with Hokuriku Electric Power, reinforcing Malaysia’s role in Japan’s energy security as utilities seek dependable fuel through a volatile global market.
The partnership dates to a sale and purchase agreement signed in 2016, followed by the first LNG cargo delivered to Hokuriku Electric in March 2018. Extending the arrangement gives the Japanese utility greater visibility over future supply while preserving a commercial link built through several years of operating experience.
