Bursa Malaysia Rises at Midday as Heavyweight Buying Extends Market Momentum

Kuala Lumpur, 18 June 2026 – Bursa Malaysia moved higher at midday on Thursday, supported by sustained buying in selected heavyweight counters as investors continued to position around improving market sentiment, regional cues and expectations of clearer global policy direction.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose 5.43 points, or 0.31%, to 1,715.42 from Tuesday’s close of 1,709.99. The positive performance extended the local benchmark’s recent rebound, although broader market participation remained uneven as decliners outpaced gainers.
