Nvidia Keeps China Inside US$200 Billion CPU Forecast as AI Compute Ambitions Expand

TAIPEI, 24 May 2026 – Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang said the company’s forecast for a US$200 billion central processing unit market includes China, signalling that the chipmaker still sees major long-term demand from the world’s second-largest economy despite continuing US-China technology restrictions.

Huang’s comments underline Nvidia’s ambition to expand beyond graphics processing units into a broader AI computing architecture that combines GPUs, CPUs, networking and software. The company’s new Vera CPU and Rubin GPU platform are central to that strategy, as AI systems increasingly require tightly integrated computing systems rather than standalone chips.
