KWAP Emerges as Substantial Shareholder in AEON Co After Share Acquisition

Kuala Lumpur, 22 May 2026 – Kumpulan Wang Persaraan Diperbadankan, better known as KWAP, has emerged as a substantial shareholder in AEON Co (M) Bhd after acquiring more than 1.56 million shares in the retailer, adding another major Malaysian institutional investor to the company’s shareholder base.

The transaction was carried out on 20 May 2026, according to a filing with Bursa Malaysia. Based on AEON Co’s closing price of RM1.16 on that day, the acquired block of shares was valued at approximately RM1.82 million.
