Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 17 November 2025 – Malaysian digital asset custody provider Gambit Custody has entered into a partnership with GEN, a global ESG technology company, to accelerate Malaysia’s clean energy transition through a transparent, blockchain-based infrastructure that links investors directly to real solar and green energy projects. Under the collaboration, GEN will structure and digitise renewable energy assets, while Gambit Custody will safeguard the digital instruments under its regulated Malaysian framework.

The partnership enables businesses, institutions, and qualified investors to access tokenised green assets with confidence that every unit is backed by real energy output and verifiable environmental impact. Each project will include transparent tracking of solar generation, carbon avoidance, and other performance indicators, with data recorded and auditable on-chain. This mitigates greenwashing risk while giving corporates reliable metrics for ESG reporting and board-level sustainability oversight.

“Our first-of-its-kind partnership with GEN represents a major step toward bridging the gap between digital asset infrastructure and real-world sustainability,” said Datuk Clifford Hii, Group Chief Executive Officer, Gambit Group. “By combining secure custody with credible energy data, we’re enabling investors and corporations in Malaysia to participate in the clean energy transition with trust, clarity, and measurable impact.”

The collaboration aligns with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which targets 70% renewable energy capacity by 2050. As the country moves to mobilise greater private investment into green infrastructure, digital transparency is expected to play a growing role in validating project performance and improving capital efficiency.

“Working with Gambit Custody allows us to create a transparent and compliant ecosystem for tokenised renewable energy,” said Ines Yong, Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer, GEN. “This partnership combines our global ESG expertise with Gambit’s regulated infrastructure. It shows how technology, regulation, and sustainability can work together to accelerate Malaysia’s shift toward a low-carbon economy.”

By integrating GEN’s blockchain and marketplace technology with Gambit Custody’s compliant safeguarding infrastructure, the partnership establishes a pathway for investors and businesses to align financial returns with verified climate outcomes, a move that supports Malaysia’s efforts to turn its energy transition goals into measurable, on-the-ground progress.
