KUALA LUMPUR, 6 April 2026 — A new all-jazz programme by The klpac Symphonic Band highlights a broader shift in Kuala Lumpur’s performing arts scene, where live orchestral jazz is re-emerging as a curated cultural experience rather than niche programming.

“Jazz Spectrum”, conducted by Cheryl Mah, brings together works inspired by Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Dave Brubeck, George Gershwin and Frank Sinatra, spanning swing, cool jazz, Latin influences and Broadway-style arrangements. The programme is structured as a chronological and stylistic journey, positioning jazz not just as entertainment, but as a historical narrative presented through symphonic band instrumentation.

In recent years, programming at arts venues has leaned toward cross-genre concerts designed to attract wider audiences.
