Kuala Lumpur, 21 October 2026 – Sunway Group is exploring partnerships with WeRide, Neolix and AutoFlight to test autonomous passenger transport, driverless logistics vehicles and electric aircraft in Malaysia. The group plans to acquire and trial two fully electric autonomous buses on the BRT-Sunway Line, subject to a pilot process for which it said conditional Transport Ministry approval has been obtained.

The announced projects remain trials and proposed partnerships rather than commercial deployments. Their value will depend on regulatory approval, safety performance, utilisation, capital costs and whether the services solve practical mobility problems for residents and businesses.
