Singapore, 29 September 2026 – Construction has begun on Singapore’s fourth commercial egg farm, reviving a food-security investment delayed for years by cost, supply-chain and biosecurity pressures. DoMo Farm in Lim Chu Kang is expected to produce about 380 million eggs a year when its first phase is completed in less than two years. At full capacity, its operator projects more than 500 million eggs annually, a volume equivalent to nearly a quarter of Singapore’s current egg consumption. The first products are expected to reach shops in 2028.
The project is operated by ISE Foods Holdings, a subsidiary of listed Ellipsiz, in collaboration with Japan’s ISE group. Singapore consumed more than 2.2 billion eggs last year. Its three established commercial farms supplied roughly one-third of that demand, with imports meeting the balance. Sustainability and environment minister Grace Fu said full production at DoMo could lift the domestic share to about half. That would not end import dependence, but it would add a larger local buffer when cross-border supplies are disrupted.
