Singapore Chip Suppliers Deepen India Push as Localisation Tests Execution

Singapore chip suppliers are building an Indian footprint, but import delays, talent and project execution will determine returns.

New Delhi, 25 September 2026 – Singapore-based semiconductor suppliers are stepping up their presence in India as New Delhi seeks to build a domestic chip ecosystem. The opportunity extends beyond fabrication plants: equipment, specialised logistics, cleanroom components and technical services all need to arrive on schedule if announced projects are to become productive assets.

A record 27 Singapore-based companies exhibited at the Singapore Pavilion at SEMICON India 2026, compared with 10 in 2024. Since 2024, these firms have secured more than US$180 million in semiconductor contracts in India and invested over US$20 million, employing more than 300 people. The figures indicate growing commercial participation, though contracts and investment should not be mistaken for realised profit.
