Austin, 19 October 2026 – Elon Musk has said he intends to give one of his SpaceX shares to every child in the United States in 2027. With just over 72 million Americans under 18 and SpaceX recently trading near US$146 a share, the pledge would represent stock worth about US$10.5 billion at that price.
For Asian investors, the announcement matters because it could place a large block of a high-profile aerospace company into millions of household accounts while drawing attention to stock-based philanthropy. The pledge is confirmed, but Musk has not explained eligibility, custody, tax treatment, timing or the transfer mechanism. The estimated value will also change with SpaceX’s share price.
