Meta Turns to Australia’s Firmus for Southeast Asia AI Computing Capacity

Meta is tapping Australian AI infrastructure provider Firmus for computing capacity in Southeast Asia as hyperscalers race to secure power, data centres and advanced processors.

Singapore, 29 September 2026 – Meta Platforms is tapping Australian AI infrastructure provider Firmus for computing capacity in Southeast Asia, extending the technology group’s global race to secure the processing power required for increasingly sophisticated artificial intelligence models and consumer AI services.

The partnership gives Meta another source of specialised AI infrastructure as demand for high-performance computing accelerates across the region. Firmus’ cloud-services agreement with Meta began earlier this year and runs through June 2031, with an option for Meta to extend the arrangement for another year.
