Malaysia’s 2026 Growth Seen Near Upper End of 4%–5% Forecast

Kuala Lumpur, 28 July 2026 – Malaysia’s economy could expand near the upper end of Bank Negara Malaysia’s 4% to 5% forecast in 2026, supported by economic resilience, reform momentum and sustained investor confidence despite external energy-supply pressures.

Bank Negara Governor Datuk Seri Abdul Rasheed Ghaffour said the country remained positioned to deliver stronger growth within the central bank’s projected range. He delivered the assessment during his keynote address at the Sasana Symposium 2026, which carried the theme “Reforms for Resilience.”
