Kuala Lumpur, 6 July 2026 – Malaysia’s utilities sector is expected to continue benefiting from the rapid expansion of data centre developments, as rising electricity demand creates a stronger growth pathway for power generation, grid infrastructure and related utility players.

Hong Leong Investment Bank Research said Malaysia’s emergence as a data centre hub is supporting sustained demand for electricity, with the sector likely to benefit from accelerating digital infrastructure investment driven by global technology and geographical shifts.
