Hong Kong/London, 28 October 2026 – Standard Chartered PLC reported third-quarter pretax profit of US$2.25 billion, up 27% from a year earlier, and raised its 2026 income-growth target to more than 7%. The bank also increased its return-on-tangible-equity target to above 14%, from a previous goal of more than 12%, after stronger activity in wealth management and global markets.

The results matter to Asian investors because the bank earns a substantial share of its income across Asia and Africa, where trade flows, investment activity and wealth creation shape its outlook. The profit and guidance changes are reported results and management targets; they do not guarantee future growth. Investors will need to assess whether client activity and market-related income can remain strong through changing rates and market conditions.
