DUBAI, 31 October 2025 – The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) led Malaysia’s participation at Expand North Star (ENS) and GITEX Dubai 2025, positioning the nation as a hub for innovation, collaboration, and technological advancement. The global tech showcases provided Malaysia with a high-profile platform to demonstrate its cutting-edge digital solutions, engage with leading regional players, and highlight the capabilities of Malaysian enterprises in fintech, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital services.
The strong economic and diplomatic ties between Malaysia and the Middle East, particularly with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), have opened new opportunities for Malaysian companies to access one of the region’s fastest-growing digital economies. MDEC played a pivotal role in connecting Malaysian innovators with investors, partners, and technology leaders, facilitating market access and driving cross-border knowledge exchange.
Through these initiatives, Malaysian companies explored new markets, tested innovative business models, and expanded their strategic capabilities. This collaborative engagement contributed to the broader development of digital ecosystems across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
A total of 15 Malaysian tech firms participated in ENS and GITEX Dubai 2025, including eight as part of the official delegation. Their presence generated over RM500 million in digital export opportunities and more than RM700 million in potential digital investments into Malaysia, underscoring the country’s growing global competitiveness.
The strong turnout of start-ups, scale-ups, and established firms reflected Malaysia’s vibrant, multi-layered tech landscape and its readiness to play a larger role in the international digital economy.
MDEC’s continued participation in major global events reinforces Malaysia’s vision to become the ASEAN Digital Hub, driving initiatives in innovation, talent development, and sustainable digital growth.
“MDEC’s participation at ENS and GITEX 2025 reflects our dedication to advancing Malaysia’s digital economy. These engagements highlight the strength of our technology ecosystem, with Malaysia Digital (MD) companies recording RM44.6 billion in approved investments as of August 2025, demonstrating strong investor confidence in Malaysia’s capabilities,” said Anuar Fariz Fadzil, Chief Executive Officer of MDEC.
“Our focus remains on creating a sustainable ecosystem that nurtures talent, empowers businesses, and positions Malaysia as a leading force in the global technology landscape.”
