Malaysia Builds ASEAN’s Largest Data Centre Pipeline as Singapore Retains Premium Position

Singapore, 13 July 2026 – Malaysia has emerged as Southeast Asia’s leading destination for new data centre capacity, with its development pipeline approaching 13 gigawatts as global technology companies seek lower construction costs, faster execution and greater access to land and electricity.

The planned capacity is larger than the combined pipelines of Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand, highlighting Malaysia’s rapid transformation from an overflow location serving Singapore into a major digital infrastructure market in its own right.
