Singapore, 17 August 2026 – Commodity shipping through the Strait of Hormuz slowed sharply over the weekend after tanker attacks, increasing uncertainty over crude oil and liquefied-natural-gas flows through one of the world’s most important energy corridors.
Ship-tracking data recorded five commodity-vessel transits on Saturday and none on Sunday, compared with 31 during the previous weekend. Some ships may have crossed with identification systems switched off, but the tracked decline still indicates severe disruption.
