Putrajaya, 8 February 2026 – Malaysia’s Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has cautioned the public against taking the law into their own hands, stressing that Malaysia’s legal system provides proper mechanisms to address wrongdoing without resorting to vigilantism.
Fahmi emphasised that enforcement of laws must remain the responsibility of authorised authorities, including the police and relevant enforcement agencies, to ensure justice is administered fairly and in accordance with due process.
“There are laws in place, and enforcement should be left to the proper authorities,” he said, urging Malaysians to refrain from actions that could undermine legal order or escalate tensions.
