DXN Pioneers World’s First Direct Worker Voice Human Rights Due Diligence Platform

By Abigail Cheong3 min read

Cyberjaya, Malaysia, 19 September 2025 — DXN Holdings Bhd (DXN), a Bursa Malaysia-listed global nutraceutical manufacturer, has broken new ground by becoming the first company worldwide to embed a Direct Worker Voice (DWV) platform directly into its Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) processes across its factories in Malaysia, India, and China. The initiative, covering more than 1,700 factory workers, sets a new global benchmark in labour rights compliance and ethical manufacturing.

Unlike many consumer brands that rely on outsourced production, DXN operates as a true manufacturer. This rollout positions the company as the only multinational to scale HRDD practices across borders by directly licensing and validating worker feedback at the factory level. The system aligns fully with the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) 11 indicators of forced labour and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), reinforcing DXN’s reputation as an ESG leader.

A New Standard in Worker Engagement

Founder and Executive Chairman Datuk Lim Siow Jin said the milestone was about putting people at the centre of DXN’s global growth. “Our growth engine is powered by our factories and the well-being of the workers who sustain them. By being the first in the world to integrate Direct Worker Voice into Human Rights Due Diligence, we are sending a clear signal to investors and stakeholders that our growth is sustainable, ethical, and globally responsible. We began in Malaysia, our home ground, and are now scaling this model across continents,” he noted.

Phased Rollout Strategy

The DWV platform is being expanded in phases:

  • Phase 1 (completed): Implementation across Malaysia, India, and China, engaging 1,700+ workers.
  • Phase 2 (upcoming): Rollout in Latin America, where DXN has a growing market presence, to showcase the scalability of the system across diverse cultural and regulatory contexts.

Technology partner Bluenumber underscored the significance of the move. CEO Dr. Puvan J Selvanathan said, “DXN has set a new global benchmark by embedding Direct Worker Voice into HRDD across multiple countries. With over 80% workforce participation, DXN demonstrates risk-mapping and evidence-based assurance at scale. This is a new global standard for responsible manufacturing, and it exemplifies Malaysian MNC leadership under the UNGPs.”

Protecting Market Access and Investor Confidence

The DWV platform goes beyond compliance—it strengthens DXN’s long-term shareholder value. The company’s direct worker validation framework generates independently verified ESG data, trusted by global investors, and helps safeguard access to key markets facing tightening regulations, including the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), the US Forced Labor Prevention Act, the UK Modern Slavery Act, and OECD frameworks.

For DXN, the implications are clear: more credible ESG credentials, stronger resilience in global supply chains, and enhanced access to diversified USD-denominated cash flows. This assurance not only protects DXN’s reputation but also reinforces earnings visibility and market access in Europe, North America, and beyond.

Key Features of the MillionMakers™ DWV Initiative

  • Coverage: 1,700+ factory workers across Malaysia, India, and China.
  • Validation: Worker data anonymised and independently verified by international NGOs.
  • Scalability: Expansion planned into Latin America as the next growth phase.
  • Compliance Ready: Aligned with ILO, UNGPs, EU, US, UK, Australian, and OECD standards.

Outlook

DXN’s leadership in embedding human rights standards at the operational level demonstrates how compliance can evolve into a competitive advantage. By future-proofing its business against regulatory risks and investor scrutiny, the company is positioning itself not just as a nutraceutical manufacturer, but as a global reference point for responsible, ethical, and sustainable manufacturing.
